ANTS


       Ants are eusocial insects of the family Formicidae and, along with the related wasps and bees, belong to the order Hymenoptera. Including arthropod phylum and insect class. Ants evolved from wasp-like ancestors in the Cretaceous period, about 140 million years ago, and diversified after the rise of flowering plants. More than 12,500 of an estimated total of 22,000 species have been classified. They are easily identified by their elbowed antennae and the distinctive node-like structure that forms their slender waists.

          Ants distinctive animal. They are so many fun facts about ants. The first fun fact is some of ant species have a ability to carry loads 10-50 times heavier than their body weight. The extraordinary power of ants caused by their small body size. According to research from Arizona State University, because of its small size, the ant muscle has a larger cross sectional area, even larger than larger animals. Other than that, ants is the most intelligent insect. Ants have around 250.000 brain cells in its head. In fact, if several large ants colonies are combined, their brain cells count can equal the average number of brain cells in humans.



       There are more than 10.000 species of ants in the world. One of them is Ochetellus. Ochetellus is an ant species that we usually find out everyday. We can find it in our house like in kitchen. People usually say that this ant are annoying ant because they like to hunt for food in our kitchen. Another species is Solenopsis spp. Solenopsis has brown-copper color in their head and darker color in their stomach. This ant is the main ham of agriculture and urban areas, destroying plants and attacking residential areas both outdoors and indoors. There are so many more species of ants in this world.
